Tools to help build momentum for supports that bring stronger outcomes to people

Using a change management framework to build momentum

To build momentum, you need to identify the changes that need to be made to strengthen what you offer to the people using your services. It helps to be really clear about why that's important (ie how it relates to the agency's values, the goal of person-centredness, and the pursuit of good outcomes). It then hleps to identify the specific steps that can be taken and, critically, whose help you need to make this happen. all of these elements are essential for creating momentum.

To help, we have prepared the following tool that comprises a series of questions you can ask about what you want to achieve. It's based on a change management framework devised by Richard Beckhard and Reuben Harris, and we've added the detail. Their book is called Organizational Transitions, and a web search will probably take you to copies for sale.

The tool is a walk-through of questions you can ask about the change you want to build momentum for. It can help you resolve your actions and identify who you need to enrol, to help build momentum.
