About Us
The Values in Action methodology has been developed by JFA Purple Orange.
JFA Purple Orange is an Adelaide-based agency. We are a not-for-profit agency but we prefer the term social profit.
Our focus is on uncovering and understanding the ways people can be assisted to live a full and meaningful life.
Our history is with people living with disability, who remain a highly marginalised group in Australia, excluded from many of the opportunities that most Australians take for granted.
Our work is anchored on dialogue with people living with disability and their families, to understand as much as we can about their aspirations and issues. Based on this, we undertake research and evaluation, and we foster initiatives that have the promise of strengthening people's life chances.
We then seek to influence decision-makers so that our communities are authentically welcoming and inclusive of people living with disability as fellow citizens.
Increasingly we find our work has similar relevance to the life chances for other people living with increased vulnerability, such as older people, people who are homeless, people living with mental illness, families at risk, and people marginalised and excluded because of an aspect of their identity.
